Deadline for abstracts: April 01, 2002

Description:
We will have talks in Variational Methods for Solving (primarily) Nonlinear Elliptic Partial Differential Equations, with an emphasis on Open Problems. Scientific Applications and Numerical Algorithms will also be featured. Our goal is to produce a Proceedings Volume (AMS J. of Contemporary Math.) which will serve as a useful reference to both experienced and new researchers in the area.

Speakers: Primary: Alfonso Castro, UTSA - Semilinear Elliptic Problems Goong Chen, TAMU - Numerical Visualization Wei-Ming Ni, UMN - Systems and Shadow Equations The Key Speakers will give a series of one-hour lectures in the mornings and/or the evenings; the afternoons will be reserved for other participants to give 20- and/or 30-minute talks. There will also be numerical demonstrations of algorithms useful in investigating related problems.
