Description:
The main goal of this series of Meetings on Computer Algebra and Applications (EACA) is to provide a forum for researchers on Computer Algebra as well as for researchers who essentially use these techniques in their investigation. Originally, this is a Spanish forum, but it is not restricted to Spanish people. In the last EACA events, many researchers from all over the world did participate. The EACA-2002 is the eighth EACA meeting, following events in Santander (1995), Sevilla (1996), Granada (1997), Sigüenza (1998), Tenerife (1999), Barcelona (2000) and Ezcaray (2001). As in the previous events of this series, the participation of young researchers is especially encouraged. The topics of this meeting include, but are not restricted to: Effective methods in Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Topology; Algorithmic complexity; Scientific computation via symbolic-numerical methods; Development of symbolic-numerical software; Analysis, specification, design and implementation of Symbolic Computation systems; Applications to Sciences and Technology.

Speakers: - Carlos Andradas, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain - Bruno Buchberger, Research Institute for Symbolic Computation (RISC), Linz, Austria - Joan Elias, Universidad de Barcelona, Spain - Ioannis Emiris, Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), Sophia-Antipolis, France - Aron Simis, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil - Uli Walther, Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA
