Description:
This is the second IMA conference on the Mathematics of Communications, which follows the first meeting held at Loughborough in 1998. Communications is one of the most active areas in electronic technology driven by the development of mobile communications, broadband fixed networks and advanced multimedia services. Mathematics is of fundamental importance to this technology providing the theoretical basis for estimation theory, coding and cryptography, queuing theory, etc. The conference is intended to complement the successful series on Mathematics in Signal Processing. The communications conferences will adopt the same popular format and be run alternatively on a four year cycle. The aim of the conference is to bring together mathematicians and engineers to explore recent developments in the field and identify likely themes for future research within this challenging application area
