Description:
ingo2003 is an initiative of research groups in Aberdeen, Manchester, and Göttingen working in the areas of algebraic topology, representation theory, and commutative algebra. The central theme of this conference is invariant theory, but the cross connections with other fields will be adequately represented. Special topics and tools such as Frobenius homomorphisms, Steenrod operations, representation theory, Macaulay duals, differential Galois theory, as well as other related fields will find their place at ingo2003 . The conference is addressed to the need for European mathematicians from a diverse range of research areas to exchange ideas, and learn new techniques that may point the way for future work. Young researchers and women are particularly encouraged to actively take part.
