Description:
Employability 2008 is a disability and employment awareness event for both the employer and employee. It will be an opportunity for employers and potential employees to share experiences; and meet with organisations who can help support the recruitment and retention of staff. There will be opportunities to attend workshops to update your knowledge, skills and understanding of disability and employment issues including; • the recruitment processes • an introduction risk assessment in the workplace • Disability Discrimination Act and Case Law • employee rights • interviewer skill development • interviewee skill development • Access to Work • Pathways to Work • the employee experience There will be several stands at Employability 2008 providing information and advice including on benefits and pensions; learning opportunities; employer and employee support from organisations that include amongst others McDonalds, North East Wales NHS Trust, North East Wales Institute of Higher Education, Human Applications, A4E, Job Centre Plus’ Remploy’ Yale College, Welsh College of Horticulture, Student Services; Centre for Disability Studies; Wrexham and Flintshire County Borough Councils. Who is Employability 2008 for? It is for employers and those responsible for recruitment; potential employees; or is you are someone with an interest in disability and employment issues and reducing social disengagement of those with and effected by disability.
