                    International Conference on

                      "NUMERICAL ALGORITHMS"

                           dedicated to 
                         CLAUDE BREZINSKI
                on the occasion of his 60th birthday

                        Marrakesh, Morocco
                         October 1-5, 2001

We are organizing an international conference in October 2001 to celebrate 
the 60th birthday of Claude Brezinski and, at the same time, the 10th 
anniversary of Numerical Algorithms. He founded that journal in 1991 
and contributed papers are to be published in it.

The themes of the conference will cover all aspects of numerical analysis,
in particular those which are implemented by numerical algorithms: numerical
linear algebra, orthogonal polynomials, approximation, ODEs and PDEs,
convergence acceleration, quadrature,.... 

CALL FOR PAPERS:
Participants wishing to present a talk (25 min.) must send an abstract
of one page maximum (TeX or LaTeX file) by e-mail before May 1st, 2001 to

ACCOMODATION AND CONFERENCE FEES:
Participants will be accomodated in a 5 star hotel (Hotel Kenzi Farah), 
at a special reduced price. 
The price is 490 USD for a double room and 550 USD for a single room.
It includes, in both cases:	
			- Registration fee
			- Half-board (breakfast and one meal) for 6 nights.
The registration fee includes coffee breaks, abstracts and the social events
(a cocktail party, a banquet, an excursion to Essaouira with a lunch, and an
evening at an outdoor restaurant complete with a floor-show).
For accompanying persons the prices, including all social events, are 
360 USD for a double room and 420 USD for a single room.
Since Marrakesh attracts many tourists, full payment has to be received
by the organizers before June 1st, 2001. If payment is received after this
date but before July 31, the prices are increased by 50 USD.
After July 31, 2001, rooms will not be guaranteed.
Registration fee alone, without accomodation, is 200 USD.
