Morelia City, in the State of Michoacan, is located 187 miles northwest of Mexico City and 215 miles east of Guadalajara City. The weather is usually warm during the day, but it may cool down in the evenings (a sweater should be sufficient). Morelia City has less than 1,000,000 inhabitants and it has a strong cultural tradition, which takes us from the present to the past centuries. Its architecture is a mixture of old Spanish and New Spanish style. Morelia City offers a diverse selection of food specialities. Not far from Morelia City is a small town called Patzcuaro where one can still see the influence of the ancient Tarascos (i.e., the indian inhabitants of Michoacan); their culture is exhibited in their pottery and wide varity of food.
