For participants who plan to travel by bus from Mexico City to Morelia City, we recommend that you use a taxi to go to the bus station. Be aware that there are several bus stations in Mexico City; so please make sure to go to the right one: You should go to "Terminal de Autobuses OBSERVATORIO" . You can go to this station by taxi, but make sure you buy your ticket inside the airport (look for the sign "Taxis Autorizados" ). You can also go to the bus station by subway--the name of the subway station is OBSERVATORIO (it is in line one of the system). Buses from Mexico City to Morelia City depart every 45 minutes. We recommend you to take either ENLACES TERRESTRES NACIONALES (ETN) or PEGASO. Morelia City, in the State of Michoacan, is located 187 miles northwest of Mexico City and 215 miles east of Guadalajara City. The weather is usually warm during the day, but it may cool down in the evenings (a sweater should be sufficient). Morelia City has less than 1,000,000 inhabitants and it has a strong cultural tradition, which takes us from the present to the past centuries. Its architecture is a mixture of old Spanish and New Spanish style. Morelia City offers a diverse selection of food specialities. Not far from Morelia City there is a small town called Patzcuaro where one can still see the influence of the ancient Tarascos (i.e., the indian inhabitants of Michoacan); their culture is exhibited in their pottery and wide varity of food.
