The speakers and titles are: Panos Papasoglu (Orsay): "Quasi-isometry invariance of group splittings" (I, II) Robert Edwards (UCLA): "Quotients of $p$-adic actions and their dimensions" (I, II) Andrzej Zuk (Ecole Normale Superieure - Lyon ): "Groups with property (T)" and "On a question of Atiyah" Mark Sapir (Vanderbilt): TBA Schedule: Friday December 15: Papasoglu 10:00 am - 11:00 am, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Edwards 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Saturday December 16: Zuk 10:00 am - 11:00 am, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Sapir 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Park City is a beautiful ski resort city in the scenic Wasatch Mountains. We have negotiated deeply discounted room rates of $50.00 and $55.00 per night for the duration of the conference at the Treasure Mountain Inn. The nearest airport, Salt Lake International airport, is approximately 40 miles distant from the meeting site.
